Week 5

Painting in progress...my spare time is being spent here, I haven't gotten far, I haven't had much spare time...

Art work

Some of the various art projects I have around. The first is a multimedia collage, then some acrylic pieces and acouple watercolors.

Week 4

Ok, so excuse the eye booger on him, but this is Moose. Probably one of the coolest dogs I have ever had in my life. He is a 2 year old English Mastiff. He is a character, and he is the subject of this weeks picture. He was bored with the photo shoot, and annoyed by one of the other dogs who was constantly bugging him but, here is a face that his mother loves!

Husbands Hobby

My husband has begun tying flies again for fishing, Steelhead fishing specificly. I love all the colors, and the feathers etc. The jumble pile of color is his scrap pile, I love it, It makes me want to use it in a piece of artwork or something.

OHSET Team Penning Clinic

Crook County Equestrian Team took part in a Team Penning clinic last Sunday at Brasada. In order to compete in this event the riders are required to attend one of these clinics, and was it fun! The kids, sorry "athletes" had a good time. I was excited because my horse got in on the action and seemed to enjoy himself. These young people had great attitudes, and really put in effort to learn the ropes. Picture taking was hard as I could not use flash, and it is indoors, motion and not great light. But, it was fun captured, even if not well. Here are just a few.

Week 3 of 52 Project

Ok, so, I have taken other picture besides my daughter this week. However, these are my favorites. And since my life tends to revolve around her, she is my subject for this week.

Winter Formal

Saturday was Winter Formal at Crook County High School. My daughter and her boyfriend went to dinner and the dance. They, well, my daughter was very excited, and spent a lot of time planning her hair, makeup etc. She bought the dress last summer when she found it for an excellent deal and could not pass it up. Her boyfriend took her to dinner and they had a nice time. He is a very nice young man, and I have to say I like the way he treats her like a lady. However, as mom, how beautiful and grown up my baby girl looks, sort of scares me. Then to see the way he looked at her..... well, I appreciate what he thinks about her but it is a little scary as mom. Anyway, just wanted to share.

Week 2 of "52 Project"

Ok, so not an interesting and definitely not a quality picture. However, it is the one of the few I shot this weekend. My Friday consisted of me, creating many hairstyles for my daughter to choose from for winter formal which is next weekend, snapping pictures of her dress to send via phone to her dates mom to make sure the tie will match, shopping for accessories to go with the dress etc. etc. So, It seemed fitting, because this dress is the root of my weekend. That, and the fact that the other activity I did today was fix an extensive amount of electric fence that my daughters horse discovered wasn't on. So he took the opportunity to escape his field, and the adjoinging one and enjoy himself in my flowerbeds and on my lawn. I did not take a picture of him in the yard..... probably should have. And no one took a picture of me fixing fence. So the dress won by default. ;)

My 52 Project

Ok, so my friend and photographer buddy started this project she and others call the "365 Project". It is a commitment to post 1 picture a day for the whole year, thus the 365. She tossed me a cookie saying I should do it too. But I kept thinking I don't get on my blog daily, my life as a teenagers taxi etc keeps me pretty busy until late most weekenights. So then she said, try once a week. So, now that I am caught up on pictures, 4H, classes, work, housekeeping and horse stuff. I am aiming for a "52 Project" So, I will choose 1 picture of the week for posting to my blog. I have some catching up to do, so here goes. Week 1- A cool sunset returning from sledding in the hills. We pulled over and I snapped a few right in the road, by the 4th one I took, it was gone. Made me realize, some of the best most beautiful opportunities that present themselves to us in life, are fleeting, and we must act quickly before they slip away. I wonder how many of those opportunities have slipped by me without my even realizing it.

Sledding

Went sledding over the break with my daughter, husband and some friends of ours. I just clicked away for the sheer fun of capturing the expressions on their faces. I love how these teenage girls just jumped in, had a blast, jumped off some pretty big bumps, crashed hard, rolled in the snow, had a snowball fight with my husband and then want a couple posed shots looking cute. It was fun for all. Pretty area in the Ochocos. The sunset on our drive home was unigue with the beam of orange light shooting straight up from the butte. Just wanted to share.
